• I just installed the Backup to Dropbox plugin, so it is the latest version. I successfully connected it to my Dropbox account.

    I scheduled it to run a backup, and the time passed without it starting.

    I waited a few hours, still nothing in Dropbox, and the log says I haven’t run a backup yet. Have repeated this sequence several times.

    I click the Start button and the button changes to Stop Backup. I wait a few hours and again, nothing.

    I have read many posts here about this issue, but have not found a definite solution. I have tried to run it with the vanilla theme without success, so that rules out my theme being the problem.

    If changes have to be made at the server, could someone please tell me EXACTLY what to tell Hostgator to change at their end.

    Any assistance appreciated.

  • Hello. How big is your back up. I believe if it is more then a few hundred mb dropbox will not take it. This is some ware in the support regarding the dropbox api. good luck.

    Just saw that you replied. sorry about the long delay. Here’s how you can estimate the size of your back up.

    If your wp-content folder contains more then about 150 mb of stuff including plugins, photos, mp3 files for podcasts, vodcasts, etc it might not work. Mine is over 20 gigs in size so mine definitely will not work. If you included other stuff in the root of your domain then add that to the size of the back up.
