• I’ve just installed and started running BackWPup and manually ran a backup which is pointed to and authenticated by my DropBox account. The backup seemingly went off without a hitch, but I have yet to see any files in the directory where it should have ‘landed’ (Backup/).

Nothing in the log file indicates there was any issue. I waited for about 30 minutes after the backup completed thinking it maybe needed time, but I still don’t see anything in my DropBox?

  • Same thing happened with me just now. Ran a back up , no errors but also no files. Looking in the log there was mention of a timeout after inactivity for 5 minutes when trying to upload to Dropbox. This sort of thing should definitely give an Error if you don’t get your files!

See a few people having this issue…….

Thanks whistlerdan. I didn’t even have the timeout message in my log, it appears as though everything went fine, yet no files in the DropBox.

    Hello,

BackWPup get from DropBox a respnce with the filesize transmitted to dropbox. And IF that the same as the size of the archive BackWPup must think all is ok.

Can you donwload the file with BackWPup ?

    Thanks Daniel,

There is nothing listed in the Backups, just this message…
“No files could be found. (List will be generated during next backup.)”

No files were saved to the DropBox. I ran the backup manually and it said everything went OK, here is the log file (I changed the real user and site name)…

Any advice is appreciated, I really like the interface and what this plugin is potentially capable of.

    Thank you!

I am having the same issue. No errors showing.

Same issue here. No errors in the log, but no files being sent to Dropbox. This is a 1st time, clean backup to a new dropbox account with plenty of storage space.
    Thx

@daniel Huesken any chance you can look into the issue many of us are seeing (as described in this thread)? Being able to reliably back-up my sites is important and I really like everything else about your plugin (other than the fact that it’s not working ??

    Thanks!

Same thing although I am sometimes getting:
WARNING: Job restart due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes.
    [29-Mar-2013 15:56:15] Job done in 1641 seconds.

Won’t send to dropbox or sugarsync

I’m having the same problem. I’ve just installed the plugin and it doesn’t try to send to Dropbox.

Huh. I unticked “Backup uploads dir” and its now uploading to Dropbox. Oddly it never backed that up anyway.

To gain any reliable results, uninstall any 3.x installs from your plugins and revert back to version 2.1.17. Manually install folder content via FTP to /public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/ and reactivate in WordPress. This is the last working version without complications. Unfortunately, the current 3.x family is utterly a PHP developer’s glitch without any promise of soon resolve.

Subscribing to this thread so I can know when a fix is implemented. Not sure if it’s the same issue as working for me everywhere apart from one host and with slightly different log files message, but hopefully it is.

Would help if everyone could post details of their hosting environment, as it is probably some issue somewhere between what the plugin is trying to do and some setting within the environment, so identifying what is different between hosting environments where it works fine and where it does not work will probably assist the plugin developer.

    Hello,

in the log above i can’t the that the dropbox upload is started.
If dropbox configured correctly. Please try to reauthenticate too.
