    I created a backup using Updraft. Now I’m trying to restore that backup and I keep getting this message:
    backup_2021-08-10-1339_L039 Axxxx_4b0890934e73-db.gz:
    This file does not appear to be an UpdraftPlus backup archive (such files are .zip or .gz files which have a name like:
    backup_(time)_(site name)_(code)_(type).(zip|gz)).
    However, UpdraftPlus archives are standard zip/SQL files – so if you are sure that your file has the right format, then you can rename it to match that pattern.

    It is an Updraft backup – it does appear to be named correctly, but it will not restore. What do I have to do to restore this version.

    Hi,

    It is possible that the file is corrupted. Can you try to extract the file? do you get any error message?

    Can you also paste the exact file name here?

    The correct filename should be –

    backup_2021-08-10-1339_L039Arche_Greater_Vancouver_4b0890934e73-db.gz

    It appears that there already exist a file with the same name. Please remove the (2) in the filename and you should be able to upload it.

    I have tried that several times – makes no difference. I need to restore this back up what I’m not willing to jeopardize the site in case an attempt completely trashes this site.
    I need a way to be sure that when I restore this file, it will be okay.
    Are there any other steps I can take to be sure that the backup will work. So far I’m not impressed with the information I’m finding because none of it seems to address this issue.
    I need help! I need answers! Surely I’m not so unique that this has not happened to anyone before. HELP!
