    Hi @wizi4ever,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having these issues with the BoldGrid Backup plugin, but I’ll see if I can help.

BoldGrid said the backup was successful (manually and autobackup) but I dont see any backup file.

    To confirm:

    1. You create a backup by going to your WordPress Dashboard > BoldGrid Backup > Backup Archives > Backup Site Now > Backup Site Now
    2. When the backup is done and you go to BoldGrid Backup > Backup Archives, you don’t see this backup?

Has this ever worked for you, or are you setting this up for the first time?

We test the BoldGrid Backup plugin for compatibility in many different environments. It sounds like though it’s not working in yours, so we’d like to run some additional tests. Can you share with us site info? – which can be found in your WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info > Copy site info to clipboard.

Hi @wizi4ever I’d really like to help resolve this issue for you, I’m sure others are having the same problem. Are you able to provide some troubleshooting info, asked for in my earlier response?

I’d like to know how this issue was resolved because I am having the exact same problem.

    Hi @itchin4stitchin,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having an issue running back ups. In our recent release of Total Upkeep we added a new logging system. If you’re having trouble creating backups, can you please:

    1. Upgrade to the latest version of Total Upkeep
    2. Try running another backup
    3. If it is not successful, please go to Total Upkeep > Tools > Logs – and provide us with the latest log file.

    Thanks,
    – Brad

    Hi Brad,

    Hi @itchin4stitchin,

I’m actually helping another user with the same issue, their backup fails during the[2020-01-19 08:00:24 UTC] Starting to close the zip file process.

No error messages are being caught, which leads me to believe that your hosting company has a program running that is killing the script.

Are you able to contact your hosting company and ask about the following?

    Hi,

I am hosting my WordPress website with you. My site uses Total Upkeep, a WordPress backup plugin. My backups are not completing, and even though the plugin is trying to catch errors via (1) hooking into the php shutdown function and (2) adding signal handlers, I am not seeing any error messages.

The plugin’s developers believe that the backup process may be getting killed via SIGKILL / kill -9, which often is triggered by hosts running resource management applications (such as Cloud Linux).

Is there anywhere in my account / any way you can help me determine if my backup processes are being killed? ( IE due to excessive cpu / memory / io – throughput / iops – operations per second)

    Thanks,
    – Brad

    Hi @itchin4stitchin,

Were you by chance able to get any info from your hosting provider (via my last response)?

We released Total Upkeep 1.13.0 last week, which includes the ability to create backups using system zip. Using system zip may help with your backups. Here’s an article that walks you through changing your compressor: https://www.boldgrid.com/support/total-upkeep/change-backup-compressor/ Essentially, you go to Total Upkeep -> Settings -> Backup Process -> Compressor -> choose System Zip -> click save.
