    Hello!

BACKUP sent to my personal email (Google Drive) but the client ID and client secret code registered for Google drive in UD settings tab was our company’s API and client ID. Is it OK to change client ID and client secret code in the settings tab of UD to my personal email or how can I change the registered email in UD so that our backup will be sent directly to our company email or I will not mind it?

This is the scenario, yesterday I installed UD and activated Google drive API and client ID using our company email in Mozilla Firefox but WordPress and my personal email was opened in Google Chrome.

To send the backup to a different Google Drive account, just run through the setup instructions again: https://updraftplus.com/support/configuring-google-drive-api-access-in-updraftplus/ . There’s no email address involved in the setup itself – no email address gets entered in the settings anywhere; please see the guide to see how it’s done.

    Hello David,

Thanks for your response. What I meant for email was my personal Google Drive and company’s Google Drive. I authenticated UD using company’s Google drive in mozilla firefox and used its client ID and client secret code but wordpress and my personal google drive was opened in google chrome. When I ran the backup yesterday, the backup was sent into my personal google drive.

So maybe I’ll run the set-up again so that it will be sent direct our company’s google drive.

    Thanks!

    Hi Roy,

The way that the OAuth authentication protocol (which is what Google’s authentication procedure is an instance of) works, is that you are setting up + authorising a connection whichever Google account you are logged into in your web browser, at the time when you click on the authorisation link. So, that’s the thing to look out for. It’s not which Google account the client ID + secret were set up in – they can be set up in any account (but, the owner of *that* account can turn your backups off if he wants to by deleting the client/secret, but he cannot access them).

    David
