Hi. We host our website on Bluehost and before the nameservers propagated, they assigned a temp domain. The primary domain is active but the backup is being restored to the old temp domain. There doesn’t seem to be an option to change the path, so our backup isn’t showing. Our primary domain is cultureandheritagealliance.org but the plugin is sending the back up to /home4/ogecuemy/public_html/wp-content/wpvividbackups
I tried moving the files in Cpanel from the wrong directory to the right directory to the other but that didn’t help. How do I resolve this problem? Thanks for your help, in advance.

    Hello @pmt1992 ,

According to your description, you are trying to move your site to new host (Bluehost) without changing the domain name. Is it correct?

In this case, you can follow the steps below to migrate your site to a new host without changing the domain name.

    1. Create a full backup for your source site and download it to your desktop.
    2. Enable a maintenance mode on your source site by using a maintenance plugin.
    3. Make a new WordPress installation on your new server, install WPvivid plugin and enable a maintenance mode as well.
    4. Resolve your domain to the new host.
    5. Upload your backup to the new site and restore.
    6. After the restore is completed on your new host, disable the maintenance mode.

Additionally, do not delete the source site until you make sure everything works properly on the new site.

If I am wrong, correct me.

    Kind regards,
    Nicholas

Thank you for your reply. The domains were the same when I did the upload. I had switched the nameservers to cultureandheritiage.org before the upload. Because the name servers were switched, I no longer have access to the origin site. Is there any way I can simply upload the backup files thru the file manager?
I really like your plugin and appreciate that it’s free.

    Hello @pmt1992

    1. Please access the website where you want to restore the backup, install WPvivid.
    2. After that, upload your backup using the WPvivid’s upload function(see this screenshot), or, use an FTP client or filer manger to upload the backup to the /wp-content/wpvividbackups directory of the website.
    3. Click ‘Scan uploaded or received backup’ button on WPvivid to retrieve and display the backup to the backup list.

    All the best,
