Backup Restore fails and even Updraft plugin is gone!

    I am two days away from launching a business store and the latest backup i tried to restore failed. Had it just failed and not borked my site it’d have been nice but it seems that when it failed it also deleted all of the plugins i had installed including Updraft Plus.

    I have found numerous posts about backup restore failures and it seems that the response (from the same person) on all of them is https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress which requires actually connecting to the host. okay, sure… i hope changing the permissions will work.

    However, can someone explain why the one thing, that is supposed to backup your site and then restore it, deletes itself from the installed plugins?

    Even if i fix the supposed permission issue, how will it restore when it is the backup plugin is no longer there?
