Backup questions

  • hello, I friend send me a WordPress backup file of his website. I’m trying to use it to install the website in a new hosting but I don’t know which plugin did the backup. It’s a zip that contains a zip for the database, themes, plugins, uploads and others. Inside the plugins file, I see an updraftplug folder.. but when I tried to upload it using that plugin, it says the file wasn’t created with updraftplug.. with the mentioned structure, which restore plugin could be? The other thing, I see an Avanta folder inside the themes file.. do I need to install it before the restore? It isn’t free

  • Your friend has probably packed the UpdraftPlus directory so that you only have to download one file instead of many. You would have to unpack the ZIP on your end and upload the unpacked files to the UpdraftPlus directory of your own installation. UpdraftPlus can then recognise and unpack them.
