Backup process runs multiple times

Hi,

I have been running this plugin on my site for a long time and have it set up for daily backup. Some days it runs once as prescribed and other days it runs various numbers of times, different everyday. Some days it will run 3 times, and others 22 times. How do I fix this and only have it run once per day?
