    Dear Support Team,

    I am experiencing an issue with the UpdraftPlus plugin as it fails to perform backups, both automatically and manually. Despite attempting various solutions, the problem persists.

    The error message encountered during a backup attempt is as follows: “Failed to gain semaphore lock (fd) – another backup of this type is apparently already active – aborting (if this is wrong – i.e. if the other backup crashed without removing the lock, then another can be started after 3 minutes) (Dec 05 07:22:44).”

    The message suggests that a backup process is already in progress. However, upon checking, there is no ongoing backup activity.

    I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue promptly.

    Hi,

    To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
    This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
    If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.
