(This is a continuation of a previous topic, I could not respond at the time but the issue wasn’t actully resolved)

When I apply the backup process and go to my new website, it displays an internal server error. I cannot go to my control panel, so I don’t have a debug code.

I tried to follow the advice given at the end of the previous topic, but I can’t seem to get the file debug.log to be created.

But I did manage to get a look at logs such as bmi_logs_this_backup (read it here) and latest_migration (read it here) and as far as I understand, the migration process actually completes without error.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @ruxhart

Yes if the backup exist in the backups list it’s valid and properly created.

I highly recommend you to update the plugin to latest version as you currently use v1.2 which is very old (based on the logs).

New version should be more stable in terms of displaying false positive error windows.

Let me know if that’s the case ??
    Thank you!

I’m surprised it says I’m using v1.2 of the plugin, because when I try to make the migration, I’m doing it on a fresh install of WordPress, where I install the plugin from the proper menu, so it is the latest version when I migrate.

But it might have been an older version when i made the backup, could this have an incidence?

    Hi @ruxhart

In such case, please try to modify the backup file if it was created with v1.2.1 it’s very old format, since v1.2.2 a lot of things changed.

Open the ZIP file and locate “wordpress” directory.

Within the directory remove any of these files:

    • .htaccess
    • php.ini
    • .user.ini

New format does not include these files as they may cause such issue you experience due to different server configurations and available modules.

Please also use the latest beta version for restoration:

Let me know if that resolves your issue ??
    Thank you!

I made a fresh installation of WordPress on my website, I installed the latest beta version of the plugin you provided, then modified the backup .zip file like you said by suppressing .htaccess and .user.ini (there wasn’t any php.ini though).
I ran the backup progress and this timet it didn’t just seemingly crash at 31% like before, instead it send me an error at about 40% of replacing the file and it gave me a debug code! Here it is : BMI-lNcD9vlc-10359

(So it’s still not working but it’s not working differently! Progress is being made! Thank you for your help thus far)

    Hi @ruxhart

    Please try with:

    1. Go to the “Other options” section
    2. Find this option (and set the value there to 250 if that won’t work try with 1500): https://prnt.sc/hr13YkRTSa9s
    3. Save the “Other options” section
    4. Force both processes to stop: https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm

Let me know if that pushes the process forward ??
    Thank you!

I tried another restoration, following the steps you described. And this time, the restoration process fully completed! So it’s progress.

Unfortunately, now I am greeted with an error message when trying to access my site: “There has been a critical error on this site” and a link to a FAQ. At least it’s an error message I never got before so my first issue is resolved, it’s just a different problem now.

I don’t know if it has something to do with the plugin or, more likely, with my website data itself. I’m not marking my issue resolved, because if you still can/would help me I’d greatly appreciate it. In any case, thank you for your help.

Sorry to post again while it seemed the basic issue had been resolved, but… Long story short, I tried to solve the issue following the successful restoration, but failed, so I ended up launching the restoration process again, thinking it would bring me back to where I was. But it didn’t: the process stopped at around 50%. Here is the debug code: BMI-5cx2ygeL-17455

    Hi @ruxhart

The backup seem to be created on v1.2.1 which uses older version of database export solution.

Since v1.2.2 we introduced new way of database export which is much better with handling large databases. As your server isn’t stable enough to restore the backup without issues (although you can try increasing or decreasing amount of queries processed per request).

I recommend you to create TasteWP.com site where you will try to restore your backup here, but before you do that please let me know what’s the name of the site I’ll increase storage for that website, so you will be able to upload and restore your backup.

Once you restore the backup on TasteWP perform another backup directly on that site using latest version of our plugin and it will convert it to the newest method of database export.

After the backup simply use Super-Quick Migration on your website and it should work without issues for future use as well.

You can use quick demo: https://demo.tastewp.com/bmi
    – Your restoration process needs around 700 MBs of free space with + space for uploaded file and new backup, so I’ll increase the space to 5 GBs, by default it has 1 GB of free space.

Let me know what’s your TasteWP site URL is ??
    Thank you!
