    Hi guys,

I just realized that my last backup was made on the 27. March and since then I’v got an issue with the backups obviously.

    I get this message:
BackUpWordPress detected issues with your last backup.
Mysqldump: sh: 1: mysql: not found

I’m on WordPress 4.5 and don’t want to update in case something bad happens (backupwordpress saved me already once) and I have the latest 3.6.0 Version of Backupwordpress.

I saw that someone posted a similar issue a month ago and someone else said the last update should resolve it. But it looks like I still have the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this issues too?

    Hi there –

This error indicates that your server either doesn’t have the two functions installed that our plugin uses, or that it isn’t allowed to access those functions.

Basically our plugin uses two options for backing up the database.

    • First option: MySQLDump command – not all hosts have this installed and some actually disallow this option. It is considered the most performant option to back up the database though.
    • Second option: If MySQLDump is not available, the plugin will attempt to use a PHP functions called PDO with a module installed named mysql (PDO:mysql) … if it isn’t installed correctly or all the privileges assigned properly, then this option might also fail, leaving no database backup available. ??

So you guys need to check with your host to see whether the command/function is installed and available for your use and if not, if it can be. At least one of these must be available.

If your backup is running fine and you see this error, that means the fallback option worked but the plugin is just noting there was an issue with the other command/function. You can disregard that error if your backups are running.

Hope that helps and feel free to report back with any further questions.
