    Re: https://www.joshuaone.org

Launched WordPress/Bluehost website in 2005. However, left it unattended for the last several years. Now trying to dust it off and get it up to speed.

WordPress/Dashboard error msg: “Your backup folder is NOT writable. To correct this issue, make the folder?/home2/joshuaon/public_html/wp-content/backup-db?writable.”

In File Manager, I see that my site is at /home4/joshuaon. I searched on home2/joshuaon: “No records found.”

Don’t know how to find the folder that needs to be changed. And if I did, don’t know how to make it writable.

Thank you to anyone who can help me.

I assume the directory is created and used by a backup plugin you are using. You would have to clarify with your hoster’s support why it is no longer writable.

OK. Thanks. I will try that again. I chatted with Bluehost support each of the last two days. Each time they said they would solve the problem. But nothing has changed.

Hi and thanks for reaching out! This does sound like it could be a permissions issue or perhaps a plugin that needs to be updated. We would need a closer look at the account to say for sure. Support should be able to assist or escalate a ticket to be addressed. If you run into any issues, we would like to invite you to reach out to us on social media with any unresolved tickets or issues you are still facing. You can reach us on Facebook and X (Twitter) with your details, just let them know WP.org sent you!?

Bluehost Support: Thank you. After failed attempts on BH chat, I phoned support. They “escalated” the problem and then I received detailed instructions by email. Haven’t implemented them yet. Thanks.
