Backup folder does not exist and backup folder might be visible
-
Hi Leslie,
think this fell off the chart a couple of months back. i really hope to resolve this persistent issue this time round.
i have two issues:
(1) Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public
To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home1/…
(2) Backup folder does NOT exist. Please create ‘backup-db’ folder in ‘/home/…’ folder and CHMOD it to ‘777’ or change the location of the backup folder under DB Option.; and
Backup folder is NOT writable. Please CHMOD it to ‘777’.for point 1 – i believe i have done the first – meaning moving the .htaccess file from the said directory to the new directory but the warning still persists. i read up about how to get rid of this on the support forum but i am not proficient enough to risk carrying out the procedure. plus, i am really not sure if I DID the correct thing.
for point 2 – i am totally stumped (but i already have the backup-db folder there). my Host insists that i should not grant CHMOD 777 and it i think CHMOD 767 or something of sort is the best it could do in order not to “compromise the security” or so i was told.
please help ??
Mike
