I am having problems with the browser uploader:

wpvivid_request: error(): an error occurred when trying to establish communication with your server. This error may be request not reaching or server not responding. Please try again later.

I have therefore uploaded the backup files directly to the /wp-content/wpvividbackups/ directory. They are not showing in the backups tab though. Why not? How can I restore the site after uploading the files in this fashion?

I suspect the browser upload error may be because there is a temporary issue with the SSL certificate, causing security errors on the https site.

    Hello @realdoctorstu

    1. They are not showing in the backups tab though. Why not? How can I restore the site after uploading the files in this fashion?

Since the backups were uploaded via FTP, you can click on the ‘Scan uploaded backup or received backup’ button on the backups tab to display the backups then restore.

    2. I suspect the browser upload error may be because there is a temporary issue with the SSL certificate, causing security errors on the https site.

Do you have the same error when performing any other actions, like taking backups, restoring and downloading backups? If you do, it may be an SSL certificate issue. And then you can fix the issue first then try to upload again.

    Hi there,
the error below is persisting even though SSL certificate is operational. I try to upload via the upload button but get:

wpvivid_request: timeout(timeout): an error occurred when trying to establish communication with your server. This error may be request not reaching or server not responding. Please try again later.

I click ‘‘Scan uploaded backup or received backup’ and nothing happens, even though the files are in the correct directory.
    Any help?

    Hi @realdoctorstu

    Thanks for your update.

That’s weird. Have you ever changed the name of the backup file? Can you send us the files name?

    Thanks,

    All the best,

I finally managed to get the plugin to pick up the files, but when I tried to restore, it failed midway through the first part (it didn’t give a specific error). I’m going to try to do it manually by FTP and phpMyAdmin. If I fail, I may be back! Thanks for your support so far.

Ok, something didn’t go quite right with the manual migration (somehow some data was missing)
    Tried again with plugin:

    Hey @realdoctorstu

    Thanks for your update.

From the log, our guess is that there should be some restrictions on your server that have terminated the restore task,

What was the value of ‘Compress Files Every’ in WPvivid Advanced Settings when the backups were created.

If it’s the default 200MB, it proves that your target site’s resources are not sufficient, as it’s not possible to decompress a zip file in even 5 minutes.

Please confirm with your web host whether there are such restrictions on the server.
