Hello all, creating my first topic here. I made an export to my local file and it was shown that it was 3gb big. However, the actual download to my machine was only 27mb.

When i checked the backup tab, it was shown that the created backup was also 3gb. May i ask if the backup was successfully created or was the wpress file download incomplete?

    Thanks for the help!

It sounds like the download might have been incomplete if the actual file size is significantly smaller than expected. Here are a few steps to check and resolve this issue:

    1. Double-check the file size of the downloaded .wpress file on your local machine. If it’s only 27MB, it likely didn’t download correctly.

    2. Try downloading the backup file again from the All-in-One WP Migration -> Backups tab. Ensure your internet connection is stable during the download.

    3. If the download keeps getting interrupted, consider using a download manager like uGet.

    4. Ensure that there is enough space on your local machine to accommodate the full 3GB file.

Hello, thank you for replying. I have tried several times over a few days, even using the uget download manager. but the download just doesnt complete. Is it because of the download server? Perhaps can i ask a different question instead, is it okay to just create a backup and not download it to my machine? Will i be able to download the backup from the backup menu only when i need it instead?

    Thanks.

You want to make sure you can actually download the backup.
You can also try to download it via FTP from wp-content/ai1wm-backups folder.
You can ask your hosting provider if they put any limitations when downloading files.
