Hi after months of working without fault all of a sudden – it has started failing with this error “php: ZipArchive::close(): Failure to create temporary file: No such file or directory, /homepages/30/d574721670/htdocs/app574722482/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/classes/backup/class-backup-engine-file-zip-archive.php, 46”,

Also the folder where it says it is storing the backups eg “/wp-content/uploads/backupwordpress-ff7c6778ea-backups” the phrase “ff7c6778ea” changes after each backup run. If I look in the back end file explorer the folders in there have different phrases too. and finally I can no longer download any backups.

It sounds like you might have two different things going on here. I’m not sure if they are related or not, though ??

The ZipArchive error is saying that it’s unable to create the temporary file. I don’t know if that is because there’s an error in the file itself or whether your server has disabled the proc_open and proc_close functions. Check with your host about whether they have disabled those functions for me and let me know what they have to say.

The other issue is a different kind of issue. I’ve only seen that one other time and we couldn’t figure out why it happened then ??

Do me a favor and try uninstalling and then reinstalling the plugin, deleting all those extra folders in the meantime?

Let me know if you’re able to run backups after that?

    Thanks,
    Kat

    Hi there –

Since it’s been a while since we’ve heard back from you I’m going ahead and closing this topic out. If this is affecting other users please start a new topic with your specific information for us, okay? ??

    Thanks,
    Kat
