• I was not able to do a successfull backup but understand this is in progress. I was not afraid to delete all thumbnails as it is easy to regenerate them. Also I moved all images to cloudinary.com so I really just needed this to clean up local files. Cloudinary does a great job of delivering thumbnails. And I just left the original images on the server just in case things go wrong.

    Hi @asle,

Thanks so much for your generous review. You’re right; the current backup function causes problems now and then, especially with low-end servers and WordPress installation containing a lot of files in its /wp-content/uploads directory.

As I’ve announced earlier, I’m going to work on a new, much more reliable way by splitting the backup process and continue it with a new one so that the single process won’t timeout.

If you’ve got any further suggestions on how to make Thumbnail Cleaner better, I’d love to hear them from you.

    Cheers,

    Kolja
