Backup failing then taking a long time

Hello, the backup was failing due to lack of space in DB.
I increased it and it failed again n with a timeout error.
I then unlinked and re-linked DB and reran the job, I has been running for 2.5 hours it got to 99% it is now up to “16:20:01: Processed 49114 files.
16:19:55: Processed 49114 files.”
Is this the way it should work? doest it normally take this long to ruin the job? I aloes purchased the email notification and the zip potion.
