Backup Fail. Too many files open?

    WP 5.8.1
    BG 1.6.7.1 and 1.6.8.1

    BG has stopped running and/or fails, no backups since Oct. 14, 2021. I get a message something like… “Too may files open in … /com/core/functions.php on line 399

    BG worked just fine until 14 Oct 21… then stopped. Ideas??
