• About 2 months ago, my automated backup stopped working. I use the standard backup in Tools>Backup.

I saw that the settings had changed and no matter what I try, the settings will not persist. (there is no Save button.)

I did a manual backup and when it completed, it said ‘backup has been emailed’ to my gmail address, but I never received the email. (I checked Spam, Trash and other folders and checked for any filters that might affect it.)

I double checked that the email address was correct.

I have been able to create the backup file and save it to my computer but I really want the daily automated backup emailed to me.

    Help please.

That come from a plugin. Which plugin are you using?

    Thanks for responding.

I didn’t realize it was from a plugin. It’s “WordPress Database Backup” by Austin Matzko. I checked the details and it has not been tested with the current version of WP.

I also maintain my wife’s site and it works there but I haven;t upgraded her site to the latest version.

Is there a backup plugin that you recommend?

I use UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore but I have never had to use the backup created.

Are you on a Cpanel Host like Godaddy? If so I suggest that you use the backup utility provided with the host.
