Backups keep failing when I try to create a new backup. First, it kept getting stuck at 42%. I increased my max_execution_time through CPanel to 300 and raised my memory limit to 512. On the settings, I used the corresponding limits and even turned on the optimization mode for web hosting/shared hosting. I still kept getting stuck and it would try it every few mins. Even though I set my max time to 300, it would keep going for 9 minutes before trying again. Eventually, I thought it was working but then it got stuck at 84%. Finally, it went to 100% and kept getting stuck at Merging_backup. I don’t know why it split the backup when I never chose to split/compress. I’m guessing maybe because of the optimization mode? I’m on PHP 5.6 I tried it on PHP 7.2 as well and It’s been hours and I can’t make my first backup. The site is only 280 Mbs. I deactivated most of my plugins and I don’t even have a caching plugin or SSL plugin yet. I’m using Godaddy Economy (not my choice, people I’m managing the website for opted for it before I could advise them to get better hosting). So I’m stuck on what the problem could be.

Thanks for your feedback. In general, some Web hostings kill php execution in a specific time, even if you already set the value of php max execution time. We have tested our plugin on Godaddy web hosting. Generally, Disk I/O is 2 MB/s. The backup process is affected by it.
