Hi there in the pasted we had on the Edit order screen below the product that was backorders one extra Line Backorder: with the QTY
also this was in the email that was send.

Thank you for sharing the screenshots.

I tested backorders on my site with the default WooCommerce settings and noticed that the “Available on backorder” message appears on the product page. However, I did not see this message on the Cart page or in the email notification.

It’s possible that displaying the message on the Cart page or in emails is a feature of your theme, rather than a core WooCommerce function.

I recommend reaching out to your theme support for further insights.

Hi thats not correct when i use the out of the box version 2 years ago it was in my Admin Edit Order page.
i have no theme loaded there.
and since 2 months it is not showing so it is for sure a issue in Woocommerce it self..

Hi @justdenniz! Thanks for the additional details. I was able to recreate what you’ve described. When the product inventory is set, as yours is, to not specifically track the stock, then a product on backorder doesn’t identify itself on the cart or checkout pages, orders, or in the email the customer receives.

However, when stock is set to Is managed? > Yes, and the Allow backorders? > Allow, but notify customer, then it’s clear in all those places that the product is on backorder. I could recreate this same behavior as far back as WooCommerce 7.0 from late 2022, so I’m not sure that it’s version specific, as much as the settings.

That said, I did find this bug report on the WooCommerce GitHub from 2020 where the same was described. This mention of the issue was added to that report, to let the developers know this issue is still cropping up.
