Backing up your blog

I was going too install WP back n Oct but the glitch that got me was backing ym blog up. It was all done using MYSQL and in my opinion complicated. However now that I am getting spam in trackback pings I have had it with MT. Has there been any developments in backing up you blog in wordpress, (like you do in MT) when you export your posts out?
