Hi – re: 2012 child theme.

Just above the footer, I have put a couple of divs both having their own backgrounds. The div floating on the right is fine as it is a proper image, and is not repeating which is correct.

The holding div has a thin image as a repeating background, same height as image of floating div. It very strangely looks as if its striping due to the line height of the site???

Any ideas what I can do about this?

Test site is https://1064056153.test.prositehosting.co.uk/, if you want to take a look at this weird looking background.

(NB: I have to crop the aeroplane image as Xara Xtreme has kindly put a white border around, which I don’t want, but you can get the gist of the problem anyway.

    Many thanks to all.

  • The solid-blue-bg.png is not solid, it has a white stripe on it.

    This is the problem.

So if you only want that div to be solid blue, why not just use css background color ?

There isn’t a stripe in the png image though. I will try background as a colour and see what happens.

Paul that’s really weird, its now just colour and there’s no stripe….I wonder why it was striping as an image? Just for info, does anyone know?

There is a white section at the top and bottom of your image, as Paulwp pointed out. This is what it looks like with a red CSS border around it https://awesomescreenshot.com/0b0tb1fb8 .

Ha – how stupid can I be?? Thank you Xara for your wonderful white borders (not!!). I’m going to crop it in another program now.

LOL about this though!! Stupid me!

Thanks everyone once again. Can anyone recommend a reliable image editing program?

Don’t give up on the tool yet, sometimes it takes a little get use to, you should check the settings.

Edit: ah, seemed we crossed posting here, yes gimp is good too, but I think all the tools are good, it depends on how we get used to and know how to use it.

I downloaded GIMP at the charity I volunteer for, so I might have a good look at it.

    Thanks all.
