Background not showing and slogan not disappearing on Twenty eleven

Ok, trying to learn WordPress after years with Blogger – and so far I have no luck.

I′ve tried to change the background to a patterned png one; uploaded it and saved. It′s visible when I look at it in the admin panel but doesn′t show up on the blog.

Also removed the slogan “Just another WordPress site” and again it looks OK in the Admin panel but on the blog it still remains.

I′ve saved both changes, tried again and saved, refreshed and so on. *Sigh*

Any clue of what could be wrong?
