background images in CSS reported as unused

    Hello,

    Why an image used in the CSS is part of the uploads directory? It should be with the theme. And if it is there, it will not be detected neither.

    I beleive that themes are no longer required to have all the images they use in the theme folder. I seem to remember that requirement was dropped at least a year ago.

    Take a look at twenty-thirteen – it can add header images from the media library.

    Header image are part of the core system and detected by the plugin.
