• I have the only most basic understanding of how to customize WordPress themes, and until yesterday, things were fine. I haven’t accessed my site in days, so nothing was changed on my end, but suddenly the background on my home page refuses to load.

    Here’s my site: https://davesink.com

and the background SHOULD appear as it does on my other pages: for example, https://www.davesink.com/?portfoliocat=illustration

I tried replacing my the index.php file with a backup, but no luck. Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction to fix this? Thanks very much!

  • I tried to load your home page, it hung then wouldn’t load the bottom half. Have you installed any new plugins, code, etc? It looks like something on your home page isn’t loading correctly, causing the rest of the code below it not to load.

Whatever is after this seems to be the trouble maker…

    Thanks, Kitta!

Disabling the Dandy ID social media link plugin did the trick. Not sure why it chose this moment to misbehave since I haven’t touched my site in a couple of weeks, but at least it worked. Now I guess I’ll need to find a compatible plugin for providing social media links. Anyone have alternative recommendations?

    Thanks again for your help.

    You’re welcome.

It’s probably something on dandyid.org’s end that’s down. You could try activating it in a few hours/days to see if it will work again.

Great site you have there. I took a look at your illustrations, very cool. Choco-Cherry made me want to hunt down some chocolate in the kitchen. ;o)

I always use Addthis or Sharethis. Google it and add to single.php to be included on every post.

Another popular one is ‘sexy bookmarks’.

Thanks for the plugin leads PSM. I’ll check them out.

And thanks for the kind words, Kitta!
