Background image layers?

  • Hi All, I have created a child theme of twentyeleven and I need some help with the design. Let me try to break it down :

    -I have a background image- it is one image that shows two columns on each side of the blog ( which is centered)
    -I have the center blog, sidebar .ect

    What i want to do is add a png image ( that has transparent parts)on top of the above two. To be more descriptive, it is a cartoon image of me, and i want the left side to slightly overlap the header and sidebar while the majority of the rest of the body is overlapping the background.

    -my child theme folder has a style.css, header.php, functions.php

    My site is local so i cant show you. But my inspiration on design is from the following site … just imagine that the advertisements on the sides is where i want to put my image.

    I have edited my avatar to show the image I want to use. (it should be up within 5-10 mins according to the site)
