I’ve over extended myself trying to figure out how to get rid of the main background image that comes with the predefined layout.
the image is not my media files of course. I’ve tried every place I can think of the look for where that image might be and just cannot find it. I think I’ve gone half blind as a result.

to be clear, it’s only the large ice cream sandwich one I’m talking about at this point.

    Hello Brigid,
if you’re talking about the Hero widget in the top part of the page, it does not render correctly because there’s a third-party Javascript error apparently caused by Google Doubleclick code. Also, that particular Content Builder row is currently stretched to full width, which is better used with a full-width page layout (the page is currently in right-sidebar mode).

Hi there – I’m referring to the ice cream sandwich image…
I will check this out later… ran out of my week.

Many thanks for looking at this.

Either I’m not familiar with the concept of an ice-cream sandwich, or there is no picture of it on your homepage ?? could you please clarify where to look? Thanks for your patience!

LOL. well I guess that is my cultural bias or my unconscious desire to have an ice cream sandwich. It’s a kind of a cookie – the tan one, the pink one… cookie with a filling, preferably ice cream but it could be anything.

I’ll have intermittent and rare electronic access until the middle of October due to a meditation retreat starting this afternoon!

Ah, those! I thought those were macarons ?? anyways, the header image(s) is exactly what I referred to in one of the previous replies.

    Hi there:

Im back at it this afternoon and for several more days.

I’ve checked the header image in the Homepage Settings in the Customizer panel and there isn’t one.
I’ve switched the home page to Home now… and so you’ll see it when you get to BrigidGreene.com.
Where is the header that you’re talking about?

It seems like all the images of the Bento Layouts won’t be overridden
When I chose a new theme for the page, it seemed to save but then stopped access to the site
So I can access the WP-admin area but not BrigidGreene.com
it fails at View Page or when I just type in the URL (BrigidGreene.com)

    Hi Brigid,

there is a redirect loop on your homepage (try using Redirect Detective to see it), which is very unlikely to be connected with the theme. Have you made any other changes to your website recently? Any server-side manipulations?

    Hi there –
To state the obvious, I get “Safari Can’t Open the Page” when changing the layouts.

    2) New information. When I change it in Customizer to have my latest posts be the home page, the site works fine.

    3) Redirect detective shows the redirect loop you mentioned.
strange that a redirect loop would all of a sudden occur now. Hasn’t been a problem ever. The .htaccess file only shows Rewrites to redirect to index.php if a page that doesn’t exist is called.
I wish I could show you the file.

    4) The “fix ” for correcting the loop is to clear the cookies.
In chrome I get that message – only when the home page is selected to show up as the first page, as selected in Customizer. When Latest Posts is selected in Customizer, Home Page Settings, the site appears fine. After clearing the cookies and checking the .htaccess file, the “home” page still won’t load.

    5) No changes other than trying to change the dang layout pics, which don’t go into effect when I’m changing them or I’m changing them in the wrong place

    6) And when you have a moment, I’ve checked the header image in the Homepage Settings in the Customizer panel and there isn’t one.
Where is the header that you’re talking about?

Edit: clarified, added the numbers, added conclusions after research and “fix”

    – Please try the following to diagnose the issue: first, try switching to another theme and replicating the redirect bug. Then, activate Bento again and try disabling all active plugins and turning them back on one by one. Let me know of the results of both tests!

    – Not sure I follow the part with the header image (point 6) – could you please elaborate? Thanks!

    What the fork.
The reply I posted last night is gone.

I tried two themes, with the same results.

I have disabled every plug in, with no changes.

I have contacted the host to see if there is something weird with how they have it configured. Waiting to hear back.

I’ve checked the htaccess file and commented out everything, but nothing there should have been a problem.
I’ve made sure my URL settings are consistent in search console and wordpress general settings.

I am more than a bit lost on this one.

    Resolved after talking with host.

    Thanks!
