• I have been tasked with making a website for a leather worker who likes to have an authentic looking responsive website. He has asked that the main navigation menu has a background image of leather, instead of the standard coloured menu background.

I’ve searched online for a way to do this. It seems possible on themes that are not responsive.

Does anyone know if this will be possible on a responsive theme ? If so please give the name of such a theme that will allow it.

    Thanks in advance

Pretty much any responsive theme should allow this.

You just need to add some CSS to make it work.

For example see https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_background-image.asp but which html tag you attach the background to will depend on which theme you choose.

Do you know how to use the Inspect Element tool in your browser? If not, learn – it’s very useful. You could look at the demo version of any theme and *pretend* to add CSS to see if it looks ok at different screen sizes, before you purchase it.

I can see how this would work for the desktop version of the website but what about the mobile version ?

Depends on the theme. Some creativity involved.

But whether you’re viewing on desktop or mobile, it’s still CSS and you can tweak it.
