• Good Day,

For some reason, the site’s background image is always displaying, including in the post and page editor, which is unacceptable as it interferes with proper viewing of the text.

I’ve already disabled the majority of my plugins as well as attempting to set “background-image: none !important;” in custom CSS, to no avail.

Could you please supply some options for solutions to this issue? If I have a dark background image, I can barely read any text in the blocks area of the editor.

    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Hello @djgrant181

We are not sure if we have clearly understood your issue, can you please elaborate the issue with screenshots of the backend setting.

As we checked your website we can see a very small Blue Gif in the Background Image is set to the Container.

Here’s the screenshot of the same.

Can you try removing to see if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,
    Suman

Hi I have the same issue on a website with black background. The black obscures the text in the editor. It is impossible to edit a dark background theme even though on the front end it has a white background container with black text.

A workaround I have found is if you have Chrome or Brave browser go to the google store and add a dark mode extension and edit in dark mode.

This has been a frustrating problem with Astra though and I will not use it again until it is addressed.

Still an issue. If you set a background image in the customizer (global > Base Colors), it is appearing in the page editor as well. This should not happen. Or at least make it optional.

    Hello @sprockettechweb

    Thanks for raising the concern.

We are working on some related changes for Gutenberg and the same has been listed down too.

We shall get the same resolved in our upcoming updates.
