Background image disappear in internet explorer

I have installed a plugin named wp-mail and when i implement the code snippet in my php code to show the mail icon (png) where i want it to appear on the site it looks god in Safari and Firefox but unfortunately not in explorer. The background image below the icon disappears in ie. Anyone hwo knows what the problem is?
