• Hi,

I’m creating a website using the Vantage theme. On the home page I use the Page Builder option. I’ve got 2 rows with 3 colums each. In the second row I’ve inserted a Blog widget and a Black Studio TinyMCE Widget.

I would like to change the background color on the home page of only the two widgets. (not the entire row) How can I do that?

    Kind regards

    SKILL

  • Hi SKILL

Thanks for reaching out. Hover over the widget concerned, click the Edit link and then click the Design tab in the right column. Background color can be set there.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Misplon,

Thanks for your reply. I took the following steps:

    Went to home page (check)
    Hover over widget (check)
    Click edit link (check)
Click design tab in the right column (unchecked, I don’t see any right column. I just have a left column)

Is this a problem because I don’t have a premium version? And if so, is it possible to change the background color of the widget without de premium version. I couldn’t find the standalone widgets in the code.

Thanks for the feedback. We’re really talking about Page Builder vs Vantage functionality here so there isn’t a free/premium differentiation, everything is in Page Builder, free.

Here is our documentation page that covers this: https://siteorigin.com/page-builder/documentation/styling-page/.

Here is an screenshot I took now of the field I’m referring to:

Which widget are you working with?

    Hi,

Thanks for your replay again! It took a while for me to test any further due to the holliday’s and stuff.

I think I know what the problem is. See the thing is, the homepage is created with “page builder”. There are 2 different ways to acces the homepage in the administrator menu.

    1. Go to apperance–>Home Page. When I click on the widget here, I do get a menu on the right side named “widget styles”. This is what you reffered to in your 1st reply.
    2. Go to pages–>all pages–>select the homepage. When I try to edit a widget area here with the page builder I dont get the menu on the right side named “widget styles”.

Does this mean I can only style widgets on the home page? Or can I also style widgets on other pages that are build with “page builder”?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

    Thanks for the feedback.

With regards to the home page, it doesn’t matter where you edit it but you should see the same Page Builder interface at both locations.

Could you perhaps link to screenshots of what you’re seeing?

Hi, no need for screenshots anymore.

I now have the same view and options when I try to change the background of the widget.

I don’t know what I did different then before. But editting the widget according the 2 different ways I discribed have the same result and I can style the widgets the way I want.

So something must have changed for the better. Or I clearly had shit in my eyes. (hoping 1st option)

    Thanks for your help. Misplon!!!

Awesome, yeah, not sure what happened but am glad to hear it’s working now.

    All the best.

I also in same problem like SKILL

    @misplon

I hope you can help me out with a problem:

I use the page builder on a test website I am working on: https://pdktest.gj-r.nl/taxiberm/

I want the second row ”Bereken Ritprijs” with the light grey background, to be full width stretched, but it doesn’t work when I use that option. How to make only that row full width stretched?

    Thanks

    Hi @kevinn02

You’d need to edit the row concerned by clicking the wrench icon far right, then click the Layout tab on the right and set the Row Layout drop down to be Full Width Stretched.

For further help on this, please, open a new support thread and I’ll do my best to help.

    Thanks

    Thanks, appreciate it.
