My backend is not loading correctly or not loading at all. It delivers blank pages and it’s not working. For example: I can see the list of post and pages, but when I click on one it delivers a blank page; if I attempt the customizer, it stucks and says “loading”.I disabled all the plugins, and cleared the cache. Same result.I switched the theme to a core one (Twenty Twenty – Four), same result. Any idea how to fix this one?

First of all that link is not public, but again if it’s the entire error log, it will be of no use.

We need specific error log entries from the specific time you saw the issue, within only a few minutes and no more.

So, the 500 is no longer happening, that’s good to know.

Are we back to just the backend not loading properly, even with all plugins deactivated and only the Twenty Twenty-Four theme in use?

Also, what version of PHP are you running?

I want to be clear, we have no more access to your site than any normal visitor, nor do we want that, so we really need you to be as descriptive as possible for us to help.

Sorry for the file sharing; I thought I set it on Google Photos.
Here’s a direct link to the txt file: https://www.thequeposexperience.com/error_log.txt
As you stated, 500 error is no longer happening. It has been fixed, when I installed a backup, after installing manually Worpress.
We are back to the backend not loading properly, even with all plugins deactivated and only the Twenty Twenty-Four theme in use.
I am using PHP version is 8.1, but I tried also 7.4, 8, and 8.2.
On PHP 8.2, the backend does not load and gives back this error: “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.” so I set it back to PHP version 8.1.
I understand your concerns about accessing the site and I truly appreciate all the time given to fix this issue; I usually can fix WordPress issues by myself, but this one came out of the blue.
Here’s a list of things I can remember I did:

    Deactivate all plugins
    Changed theme
    Changed PHP version
    Renamed .htaccess
Re-installed WordPress (except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory)
    Clear caches
    Changed browser

Your project is hacked. You must consider all files to be compromised. You can see an example if you go to /wp-content/plugins/smooth-back-to-top-button/assets/js/smooth-back-to-top-button.js (I’m intentionally not linking to it directly). Obviously a lot of files are affected, you can see this very well in the frontend. The backend will also be affected.

Restore the project from a secure backup, probably from before 29 February.

Then change all passwords (also from hosting, FTP, etc.) and install any outstanding updates.

    Also read these articles:

Deep inside, I was hoping not to hear that. The website has been hacked twice before; the first time I managed to identify the problem and remove it manually, using Wordfence and the second time I had to install a backup. I have an old backup (Oct 2023), but I was avoiding to istall it because the site has changed since then (it has many more blog articles) and I am not sure I can post them all again. Also the site is very well ranked, and it may be affected. As far as we got here, it seems it’s the only thing I can do.

Thank you all for your help!
