Backend and Frontend editor no longer work

  • I use to be able to open the backend editor but now it opens everything except the page contents. Additionally, when I open the frontend editor it just goes to a loading screen.

    What should I do?

  • I would suggest switching to one of the default themes to see if that fixes the issue. If it does, the problem is most likely in your theme. If it does not, I would disable all my plugins and try it again with a default theme. If it fixes the issue, it is one of your plugins.

    How do I know which theme was the default, I have five themes installed.

    Would I lose my information and data from disabling my plugins? Does it make a difference that we have not added a new theme or plugin in months and this problem has only been around for a month?

    Twenty Sixteen is the most recent default theme.
    You won’t loose anything by deactivating your plugins.
