Backdoor not detected

Have recently installed the plugin and so far am really happy with the results. Trying to get my bearings down, I have run a few scans and watched the Live Traffic to see a lot of bad hosts that need banned, so thanks for that! I am curious, however, about a particular issue that was just brought to my attention. During a recent audit of a theme on a site, I noticed the previous theme designer had left a backdoor function in a theme. I had initially manually removed the offending code but curious as to how WordFence would handle it, I re-added the code and ran another scan. WordFence did not report any issues. Is there a setting I missed or any reason you can find for not finding code like this? Thanks.
