Backdated posts showing up as most recent

  • My client has had several posts from 2017 and 2018 disappear. I am in the process of restoring them and backdating them to the original date. They display in the correct order on her blog page here: [ redundant link removed ] However, because I just entered them, they are showing up in the most recent posts list (of two posts) on her home page. Is there a way I can make the widget that is displaying them to use the backdated date rather than the date I re-entered the post?

    It sounds like the blog is sorting post by recently modified instead of recently added, otherwise backdating should have worked. If you update an existing post does it go to the top as well?
