    Hi thanks for your answer,

I did replace the wp-content directory by the one I did back up and wp-config.php file

I’m getting now the following message and don’t undestand anything. I don’t mind to reinstall as many time needed but want to get my post back!!I’m fully lost.

    w

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at sql6.modules. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

have you checked through the info contained in the wp-config.php file?

for some reason your WP install can’t connect to your database

well no, I’m not PC litterate to that point! so what I have done is to reinstall everything from scratch and I have actually lost all my posts.

I thought they were saved in wp-content and didn’t realize they were on my host provider server. that’s OVH pre installed WP. So asking to reinstall the posts have been deleted,
    Thanks anyway for your help

yeah…your posts are stored in your database, wp-content has all your images, themes, plugins and wp-config.php contains the connection info to link your WP install to your database

when you reinstalled WP, was a new databse created? Your old one may still exist, and you just have to link your WP install to the old DB. using phpmyadmin on your host, you should be able to check that stuff

Also, your host may have a backup of your DB
