    Hello,
Back ups with UpdraftPlus worked the first and second time I tried but now it stalls at about 1/3 all the time and I get a (Not finished) message.
It works if I select only the database though.

    Here is the log:

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

Please could you resend the log using Pastebin, pasting the link here?

From your description, it is possible that the WordPress scheduler is broken. Does the backup keep attempting to restart and fail, or does it simply stall after it is timed out?

    Thanks DNutbourne
The backup stalls and does not restart, then I get a “not finsihed” error.
It used to work the first couple of times I did it but now it is stalling every time.

    Hi,

From the log, it appears that the backup is struggling with the Uploads directory.

I would recommend adding the following to the Uploads ‘exclude these’ list, as they are files that shouldn’t be included in the backup (such as logs and cached files):

    cached,is_iu_errors.log,flog.log

I would also recommend checking if there are any other folders or files that can be excluded.

I would also recommend reducing the ‘Split archives every’ option (in the expert settings) to 200MB.
