These reviews are telling. This will never go into core and if it did that would be the end of WP. Leaving the matter of bloated code aside (and we must not) WP needs to move in the direction of “design in the browser” or face extinction. Incremental improvements to the editor or customizer will not get the job done.

Just curious… Given your comments, why did you rate this as 5 stars?

@trynet I’m also super curious about why you rate 5 stars. I’d love to know more about that. One thing worth noting is there will be a way to ‘turn off’ Gutenberg, how and why’s of that aren’t known yet. It’s a super early stage project though, so hopefully with the feedback and community involvement it will shape to be something less want to turn off.

The rating of 5 stars was my error so I changed it to 1 star to clear up misunderstanding.

I know Gutenberg is very beta (currently 0.7) but I still feel the way I did a month ago. Message to everyone working on Gutenberg. You’ll be making a huge mistake if you roll this out as cored in 5.0. Please don’t do that!

@trynet, the project is very early but it will be what contributions make happen. All voices matter to be involved and anyone can be involved no matter what skills. I would love to see you and others with critical opinions involved, because that really is important.

@karmatosed You can count on hearing my thoughts as the Gutenberg progresses. I’m a stakeholder like millions of others and I know the future of something we all care deeply about is at stake. I will continue to comment on it within my circles and hopefully beyond.
