    Hey Hans and Wp-Greeters,

Just wanted to say that i switched back to using Nextgen 1.9.13 with wp-greet as i ran several speed and page load tests and the new NG 2.0 versions are ridiculously Heavy meaning that it will slow down your website by adding at least One Second to your loadtime.

This is unacceptable for me so i just
    a)deactivated NG.
    b) installed and activated the old version 1.9.13 and
    c) then, deleted the new 2.0 NG.

My site immediately gained One Second of speed which helps alot if you have alot of plugins–about 15.

Thanks Hans for including the stock WordPress Gallery as an alternative choice into the wp-greet setup page. I have yet to experiment with this but i will -one of these days.

    Have you seen this plugin?

I guess it’s for people like us whose plugins got messed up with NG’s brilliant bloated blunder update.
This might be another candidate plugin to marry with wp-greet?
i dunno. am just passing it along as i just found it tonight.

    Peace

  • Hi there, Agentpopa
NextCellent is thought as an alternative for users having issues when NGG migration became problematic.

Also, there will be improvements and simplifications on the plugin code providing backward compatibility which I already started.

Give it the plugin a try and stay tuned!

    Hey Agentpopa,

Thanks for this brief information about the current state and thanks for the hint on NEG. I think it should db easy to connect wp-greet to NEG. If you start to test the support for native galleries, please keep in mind this is a very new feature and I am still not sure if I have thought of all dependencies this rises. If you have any hints, please let me know.

    Cheers, Hans
