Back End Order View

For some reason when I view orders, the summary uses the variation slugs instead of the user friendly label:
it shows as:
pa_enamel-tag-size: small-tag-22-mm
instead of:
Tag Size: Small (22 mm)
I can’t find any obvious documentation about it.
