    Hi,

We’ve been fighting this one for a while, and was hoping you might have some insight.

If a user submits a form, we currently have Pardot set to redirect to a thank you page (not thank you content/code in Pardot). If you then hit the browser’s Back button, or revisit the previous page by any other method, sometimes we’ll either get a Page Expired message (in FF) or blank iframe (Safari, same issue I assume).

Other times, if you go Back or revisit the page, the iframe seems to be reloading in the state where it’s set to redirect to the thank you page, and does so automatically without ever seeing the form.

I can’t figure out why one or the other happens, I can only assume it has something to do with the state the Pardot page in the iframe is in when it’s cached by the browser’s history.

I’ve gone through all the basic settings in the form I was just testing, and there is no additional redirect code or settings that would conflict with the Pardot redirect setting that I can see.

I’m really not sure what next steps to fix this might be, short of abandoning the Pardot plugin and iframes and trying to go with a 3rd party forms plugin and a Parrot form handler instead. But there must be a solution, as I don’t see this issue as widespread here? ??

    Thanks!

Got it. Have you checked with Pardot support on this?

Not me, but my contact at the client company has, and I’ve been told they have zero technical knowledge when it comes to stuff like this.

I suspect this has little or nothing to do with the plugin itself as I’d expect we’d get the same results manually sticking the iframe code on our sites versus using the plugin, but I thought it didn’t hurt to ask. ??

While I’d definitely disagree about the technical knowledge of the support folks (I’ve worked here a long time), I’m happy to take a look! Can you link me to somewhere that it’s happening?

If you want to take that to a backchannel, let me know.

    Hey Cliff,

First, apologies re the the support comment — I honestly have no idea if my client contact even asked the right questions. Just going by what he told me over the phone. ??

I will email you via your website if that’s ok.

    Thanks!

Marking this as ‘resolved’ since it’s been a while without any update.

Of course, if you need further assistance in relation to the plugin itself feel free to re-open or create a fresh topic!

    Thanks ??

That’s fine, my client bailed on Pardot’s forms and this plugin and made me build out a bunch of CF7/3rd Party forms and form handlers on the Pardot side to replace them, even after barking up this tree for quite a while.

They’re super upset that Pardot’s forms rely solely on iframes and the other problems that come with them. To my credit, I told them not to go down the Pardot iframe path years ago and wasn’t listened to. ?? Not your fault, just relaying the message.

I’m sorry to hear that, but appreciate the context.
