    Hello, I’m a newbie,

I have a section on my website where people submit stories to be published, and I had been using regular, static web pages for this. So far, I’ve got close to 40 stories sumbitted over the last year.

I recently set up a WordPress blog so that navigation of these stories will be a lot easier for site visitors–because of the archives and all the ways to categorize– plus visitors can now comment on the stories).

I’ve added all the stories I’ve got so far, but they are being archived under “September” (since I just added them this month) and I’d like to change the code for each story so that it reflects the dates each were actually submitted, and archives them accordingly.

Is this possible, and if so, where do change the code?

    Thanks, C

(I did a search on this topic, and couldn’t find anything, or maybe was using the wrong keywords, so if this question has been covered before, sorry ’bout that.)

  • Use the post editor at Manage -> Posts, select the one you wish to edit.

Look over to the right side of the page and find the blue box labeled “Post Timestamp”. If it is closed, hit the little white “+” to expand it.

    Check the “Edit timestamp” box.
    Set the date.
    Save the post.
