===== End of bndiagnostic tool output =====

I’m having an issue with my lightsail/wordpress ecommerce instance. It runs pretty smooth throughout the day and doesn’t need any ctlrscript.sh restart, but later in the day the site will become completely unresponsive. Loading in the browser will just continuously load and seems to just hang. Even using ssh to connect to the server just hangs and never responds.

The only way to fix this issue is to do a hard shutdown, wait 3-5 minutes for the instance to stop, then to start the instance again. Using the reboot button in lightsail doesn’t work. Sometimes immediately after the hard shut down, it will become unresponsive again and needs another hard shutdown.

I even tried to us the bitnami diagnostic tool to troubleshoot during this time and it just hangs as well… It took 3-4 times before I was able to successfully submit this diagnostic tool output.

To troubleshoot, I ran the top command and see that the mysql process is taking over 100% CPU, and in my lightsail instance the CPU is in the burstable CPU zone and above 30% use constantly. It seems like my CPU is running way to high, and I’m not sure why:

Bitnami support recommended I update my PHP settings, but I already did that and I’m still getting issues. They also recommended that I use a Query Monitor tool but not sure how to diagnose with that:

    https://github.com/bitnami/vms/issues/1388

They finally said, “In case it doesn’t work please open a new question in official WordPress forums, where more experienced developers may give you other hints on what may be happening.” So I am here asking for help to diagnose and figure out what’s going on.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • May I know the current server specifications, RAM, storage? You might need to upgrade your server. I encountered this kind of issue before where I needed to restart the server for my website to work, turns out my server resources are not enough.

    Hi Liz,

I’m using the $40/month tier. I use to use the $20/month tier fine but increased to try to fix this issue that started happening a few weeks ago and it didnt help.

The specs are 8?GB?RAM,?2?vCPUs,?160?GB?SSD which seems like more than enough.
