AWS S3 compatible CDN?

Feature request: bring the Amazon S3 host name forward as a configurable item. Reason: I would like to use a private object storage service that has a S3 compatible API.
I would be happy to try at a pull request if there’s a code repository somewhere. I think this would be a better solution than editing the server’s hosts file to intercept s3 traffic.
