• I’m suddenly getting the following error, despite not making frequent requests. I’ve refreshed my API keys to no avail. This issue is stopping me from making searches and adding more ads to my pages.

AWS Request Failed, please check keys – Error Message: AWS Access Key ID: xxxxxx. You are submitting requests too quickly. Please retry your requests at a slower rate.

    Any help much appreciated!

  • Me too. In my case i was thinking that was a multisite problem… The plugin should do only one request per second for the same key pair…

I think Amazon just banned my account or something. I create new pairs and keep getting the same answer.

Amazon have significantly reduced the rate at which the plugin can call the Amazon Web Service, which results in the error you are showing.

Enabling the cache within the plugin should help reduce this problem, or it might be there is a bug in the plugin that causes it to cache the ‘failed’ result, so it always displays no data. Try ‘Flushing’ the cache on the settings page to see if any of the links can be refreshed.

Thanks Paul, but I’m afraid flushing the cache hasn’t helped. I had a page that was previously working well, but now has all empty links.

Same error, tried flushing the cache, did not help.

Has anyone tried the ‘Amazon Link Extra – Cache Manager’ plugin? This refreshes stale data using a different mechanism (cron) so should be kinder on the request rate.

It also provides a page to see which links have valid entries in the cache, so over time the number of valid entries _should_ grow.
