    Hello and good day.

I am running WordPress on AWS Lightsail webhosting. Certs have been installed and functioning to the best of my knowledge.

However, when running the really simple ssl, its reporting that I dont have a certificate on the server.

    The exact message is:

No SSL certificate has been detected yet. In some cases this takes a few minutes.

I have read through one of your previous threads on the issue and just ran a ssl test on my site at https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=shop.rayeason.com

I am also not using an .htaccess file.

Can you help me troubleshoot this please?

As you have a valid certificate, you can select “Override SSL detection” in the activation notice. Then you can activate even if the certificate is not detected.

Where is the Override SSL detection option.

Also, where does Really Simple SSL store the cer keys that it creates?

The plugin is warning me about: Your Key and Certificate directories are not properly protected. For more information on this subject, please read this article1
    https://really-simple-ssl.com/protect-ssl-generation-directories

But it doesnt specify where it creates the keys.

    Can you help?

    @rayeason,

You should see a notice on the top of your screen:

“Almost ready to migrate to SSL!”

Below this, you see a disabled button “activate SSL”. behind it, you have an option “Override SSL detection”. If you enable it, the activate SSL button unlocks.

As you didn’t generate an SSL certificate with Really Simple SSL, you can ignore the keys directories message: the won’t be used in your case.

If it can’t create a directory above the root, it will create a directory in the root of your website. The directory name will be a random number. In it you will find an ssl folder.
