  • Hi Cristian,

When you use the AWPCP Mark as Spam feature, you are integrating with Akismet to view the content and title of the ad, as well as the user’s email, IP address and time/date of posting. All of these factors are handed to Akismet and they make the determination if it’s spam or not. AWPCP has no visibility into that process and what criteria they use to mark a listing as “spammy” or “not spammy”. They don’t publish that information and we have no way of finding it out.

If you’re seeing a lot of ads get marked as spam and you don’t want that, you’ll probably have to turn it off.

I notice that it seems to work against sites with adult themes, just FYI.

    Announcement is one.
And ‘it possible that I have marked as spam this person.
A long time ago. I do not remember. I’m not sure.
    But now ad is good.
    I ask you a question:
(I always say the same thing in different ways to the English problem)
How did you to insert ads?
How did you to click send?
    Why did not block?
I meet only block if I change ad!
If I do I edit and save awpcp stops me!
User has not been locked. Because?
    This is normal?
Akismet started working only with admin?
When user enters Akismet does not work?

    Hi Cristian,

Again–if you have Akismet active, if you are seeing ads blocked, I can’t tell you WHY they are being blocked. I simply don’t know this information. Akismet hides it from all of us. There’s no way to know.

If you want your ads to stop being blocked, you’ll have to turn off Akismet since we don’t control the input or output of their service. There’s no other way. AWPCP does not control Akismet, we only use their service to check for “spam” in ads.

Ok. I understood. Not many problems. It happens very rarely do not understand what happens. I believe goes well akismet active.
    Thanks for the support.

    No problem.
